Ten children were lined up in front of the classroom. We have eleven children in the class. How many children were not in class that day? 10 + ____ = 11?
Four of the ten children in the picture are girls, how many boys are in the picture? 4 + _____= 10 or 10-4 = _______. Please write your own story problem, we will answer these in class on Monday and Tuesday. Today we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday. The whole school read in the hallway, we ate Dr. Seuss hats made out of candy, we made Horton the Elephant hats, and watched a video. What was your favorite part of the day?Today we worked as explorers in groups and followed the maps we drew. Each child had a chance to be a cartographer, map reader and photographer. We used Pic Collage to document our explorations. Blog about which job you liked the most and be sure to tell us why.
Nathan's Dad came to tell us about his maps. He told us that maps can tell a story. The maps were from his dad.
